When you look deeply into your anger, you will see that the person you call your enemy is also suffering. As soon as you see that, the capacity of accepting and having compassion for them is there.Thich Nhat Hanh (via thecalminside)
oh dear me. so…
here’s the thing, i was ‘shipping characters on TV before that was even a word!!!! so GTFO!!! lol just kidding!
i actually want to address some things. mainly, the Shandy ‘shippers.
generally speaking, we ‘ship characters who have yet to be a couple, who used to be a couple, and really, who will never be a couple on our fave shows. yea? yes. it’s why we love fanfics.
'ship til you drop. by all means. just because i am sooooo not about Shandy, isn't an attack on your taste in 'ships at all.
my observation, over delightful marathon sessions of all things Captain Raydor, is a part of her core - it’s not about the evolution of her character, as some have suggested.
now, my observation could be completely different from yours. but guess what? it’s all good. how i see her and have come to understand her could be the complete opposite of your understanding.
i sincerely believe that Sharon would not date anyone on her team. i don’t believe the thought of dating anyone on her team would even be a consideration, a lightbulb, an Oprah ah-ha moment. i just don’t. that’s just not how she rolls. or maybe she did, and she got burned, and never again.
if for some reason that were to happen, i think it would happen in a most organic way, in that it would take years (YEARS) and some relationships later for that to happen.
i’m not of the belief that Sharon shouldn’t date. on the contrary, i’m looking forward to the day when we get to see other facets of Sharon. (As my homegirl, Mary said, we don’t know Sharon the shopper, or Sharon out to dinner, etc.). actually, i’d like to see her have an ep with an old bff/flame from way back in the day. a guy that knew her before she was Darth Raydor. a guy that could genuinely bring out the carefree Sharon naturally, with ease, and trust. girlfren should have her fun, and sex. with someone who isn’t a random, and isn’t her co-worker. we’ll cross that bridge, if we have to.
my point is, ‘ship the hell out whoever you want. i, personally, see no type of sexual chemistry between Sharon and anyone on the show. i see deep familial feelings. i’m on board with all that.
also, i have to add, what the actual fuck does Brenda’s shenanigans have anything to do with Sharon’s? comparing what (or who) Brenda did has noooo type of anything to do with Sharon. two different women.
i’m with Mary when she says she doesn’t want to lose the Darth Raydor core of Sharon. i like that Sharon still has that special ability to be a woman in power at work, but there’s a whole other world of Sharon outside of work - separate, her own, without errrrrone up in her business. i think it’s sweet.
*insert Mary hair flip*
Listen, if you really get Captain Sharon Raydor, you’d know she would NEVER date someone she worked with on a daily basis. Also, Sharon and Andy have no sexual chemistry.
